Shediac Open & Masters
This past weekend saw the start of the outdoor tennis tournament season in New Brunswick with the Shediac Open & Masters. It was certainly an eventful weekend which began with an unexpected large increase in registrations over last year, the postponement of matches on Friday evening due to weather, a delay in getting play started on Saturday morning because of wet courts, the halting of matches Saturday evening due to lateness and lights, additional matches having to be added to the final day schedule, some heavy winds on Sunday and eventual rain storm that blew through forcing the cancellation of the remaining matches.
But in the end, 89 of 95 matches were completed and it was still a great weekend in Shediac. Thanks to the Shediac Tennis Club for hosting and the great hospitality.
